Step-by-Step Instructions for Downloading

For Palm OS with Windows click here

If you use a Palm OS handheld with Microsoft Windows follow these steps:

  1. Click the link for the item you wish to download.
  2. If you are using Netscape Navigator as your browser, skip to Step 3. If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer, a "File Download" window appears. Choose the option to "Save" the file to your computer.
  3. A new dialog window opens showing the name of the selected file and the folder into which it will be saved. Note the location so you can find the file later, or change the "Save in:" folder to another location or the desktop to make the file easier to find, then select "Save" to start the transfer to your computer.
  4. Another window opens, showing the progress of the download. Depending on your browser settings, this box may or may not close automatically when the download is complete.
  5. Once you have downloaded your file, find the APPRISOR™ file on your computer using the Windows file explorer or another method.
  6. Double-click on the file and a window will open for the Palm Desktop Quick Install Tool. Choose the name for your handheld from the pull-down list, and select "OK."
  7. The Install Tool window shows the files queued to be installed to the handheld during the next HotSync. If you have additional files to add, choose the "Add" button and locate the files on your computer. You can select multiple files by holding down the "Ctrl" key on the keyboard as you click on each file you want to add. When the file names are all highlighted, select "Open."
  8. When you return to the Install list you should see all the files you selected. Select "Done."
  9. Place your handheld in the HotSync cradle and press the HotSync button to transfer the new files to your handheld.
  10. When the HotSync is complete, on your handheld, tap the "Home" icon, located to the left of the Graffiti area to access the Launcher menu. If the icon for APPRISOR™ does not show, tap the "Categories" drop down list on the upper right of the handheld's screen and choose "All" to display all programs.
  11. Tap the APPRISOR™ icon to start APPRISOR™ and view the list of installed documents. Tap on the name of a document to open it. While viewing a document, tap the "X" icon on the lower left of the display to close the current document and return to the APPRISOR™ document list.

If you use a Palm OS handheld with an Apple Macintosh, follow these steps:

  1. Click the link for the item you wish to download.
  2. The file will be saved to your desktop. If you are using Netscape Navigator, a small window will open showing the download progress, or if you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer, the "Download Manager" window will open showing download progress. Depending on your browser settings, the progress box may or may not close automatically when the download is complete.
  3. Once you have downloaded your file, open the Palm Desktop program and from the "HotSync®" menu item, choose "Install Handheld Files."
  4. The Install Tool window will open and show the files queued to be installed to the handheld during the next HotSync. Be sure the name for your handheld showing on the pull-down list on the upper left of the window.
  5. Select the "Add to List" button and then locate the APPRISOR™ files on your Macintosh. Select the name of a fill and select the "Add File" button. Repeat this step for each file to add,
  6. When all the files you want to install are listed, close the "Install Handheld Files" window.
  7. Place your handheld in the HotSync cradle and press the HotSync button to transfer the new files to your handheld.
  8. When the HotSync is complete, on your handheld, tap the "Home" icon, located to the left of the Graffiti area to access the Launcher menu. If the icon for APPRISOR™ does not show, tap the "Categories" drop down list on the upper right of the handheld's screen and choose "All" to display all programs.
  9. Tap the APPRISOR™ icon to start APPRISOR™ and view the list of installed documents. Tap on the name of a document to open it. While viewing a document, tap the "X" icon on the lower left of the display to close the current document and return to the APPRISOR™ document list.
